While many enjoy their experiences at Taste of Hong Kong, some diners voice concerns about the noise levels, particularly during peak hours when large groups gather. Comments about customers speaking loudly can detract from the otherwise inviting atmosphere. Additionally, the cash-only policy has garnered mixed reviews; it can be inconvenient for those who prefer to pay with card. There may also be a wait at busy times, as the space can fill up quickly, putting a strain on service during lunch hours. Some patrons have expressed a desire for more vegetarian options beyond what's currently available, though the existing selections are decent. Despite these minor complaints, the charm of the restaurant continues to shine through for many diners, ensuring a loyal customer base.

Food are tasty. If you can eat spicy food. The signature Hong Kong style curry is a must try. It is so attractive that the price of the Hong Kong style all day breakfast cost only £9, including a drink. So, I ordered one. Everything is good, except the noisy customers. They talk too loud in Mandarin.
First warm and fulfilling meal since I've been to the UK with relatively cheap prices. The food feels like it's straight from Hong Kong, and it's a nice slice of comfort in Swansea. If you want a warm meal, then this restaurant is the best food for your money! (For example, a bowl of instant noodles with beef or luncheon meat is on £6, absolute steal!)
A tasty and efficient £11 noodle lunch that was filling and good value for money. Will try the baked cheesy pork chop rice (a cha chaan teng classic) next. There’s a trestle table laden with plastic beakers for the free tea and hot or cold water. Dog friendly. Note that soon breakfast will only be available Saturday to Monday.
My son's favourite cafe, and Chinese bbq pork and egg, rice meal (menu item R8). Lovely food and quick, friendly and polite service.
Really welcoming staff and very patient when ordering. 😊 It’s cash only and order at desk. Curry fish ball £3 - if you’re into seafood it’s got a nice curry fish taste, soft texture. Ice Hong Kong style coffee £4 - hits the spot Milk tea hot £3.50- really good and sweet, definitely recommend ⭐️ N1 black pepper chicken noodles £10 - delicious, great portion and not too heavy Cheesy French toast £5 - buttery and savoury, really nice with some pepper and the mild chilli oil // our favourite ⭐️ Nutella French toast £4.5 - delicious and buttery, extra nice when topped with some golden syrup Total £30 for a large amount of food but doesn’t make you feel groggy.
Absolutely recommend! 😍 As someone born and raised in Hong Kong, I can confidently say this place is 100% authentic—the name Taste of Hong Kong couldn’t be more spot on! I haven’t had proper HK flavours for four years, and this was honestly so emotional for me. We ordered the curry beef brisket rice, baked pork chop rice, peanut butter French toast, and curry fish balls—every single dish tasted exactly like home! Portions were generous, and everything was packed with flavour. Proper HK-style comfort food! 😊👍🏻 On top of that, the staff were super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Fantastic service and amazing food—definitely a must-try!
Great place for amazing food! Totally recommend if you want food that not only tastes amazing (and authentic according to my partner) but also looks mouth-watering delicious. Server was polite and kind, with reasonable waiting time. They are cash only but hey, totally worth the trip to the nearest atm! We will definitely come back as I already miss that omelet rice!
